Apart from filmmaking I love to gather people around certain ideas, ambitions and themes like:
Revolting against the consumption culture
Making a difference
Creating a perfect gathering
SVOLEN
Together with Ole Thijs, we form SVOLEN. With a bunch of other people we organise meetings like De Rode Draad and parties like ¿ ¡ H U H ! ?. In these meeting we try to create a safe meeting space in which we can create together, share our insights and ideas instead of just consuming. Everything is possible and every meeting and party is organised and created by different people. In these meetings and parties people are invited to try new things, like shooting Analog Street photography, discovering their senses or memories overnew, or interacting with people on the streets in playful theater. During the parties people have the possibility to showcase their artistic and social talents
Surebuthow
A collective brought together to discover the question: "how can I make a difference?" Many young people are paralysed by their idealism and can't find a way to actually bring their frustration to an action. With Surebuthow we try to find out how a person without money and power can make a difference. We do this by doing (video)-interviews, writing articles and organising events. Also you can find us on festivals and other events, doing interviews. www.surebuthow.com
De Bildung Academie
For years I've been connected to De Bildung Academie. I started out as a student of the first generation. Afterwards I started to guide their course about the Energy Transition. Last year I've been head of marketing and content. The Bildung Academie is all about education innovation. Creating the university as it should be: a place for personal development, learning, but also applying the academic knowledge to the outside world. www.debildungacademie.nl
Garde Du Nord
As a student at the University of Leiden I founded Garde du Nord. It's a small film collective in which university students can experiment with different techniques of filmmaking. We organised masterclasses and "one-night-stands" in which students had to make a whole film in one night. After organising the collective for a year, I left it to others and it's been running for over three years now by itself.
